• 13/VIII. The pit was backfilled today.
• 12/VIII. The excavation is completed. One last interesting find is a proximal fragment of a Levallois point/blade made from Cretaceous spongolite chert.
• 11/VIII. We work on finishing last sectors and cleaning sections.
• 9/VIII. Field trip to Dolní Věstonice museum and a famous section.
• 8/VIII. The excavation is almost finished. .
• 7/VIII. Daniel Richter collected OSL samples and Daniel Nývlt investigated the geology of the site.
• 6/VIII. A delegation from Max Planck Institute visited our dig and Daniel Richter began boring holes for dosimetry.
• 5/VIII. We enlarged the excavated area.
• 4/VIII. The excavated area is almost finished. Tomorrow the pit will be enlarged. Among important finds is a series of Levallois artifacts.
• 31/VII-1/VIII. Hot working days. Finally weekend.
• 29-30/VII. Hot days, we intensively dug and sieved. Today's important find is an endscraper.
• 28/VII. A hot working day. We are now working in the middle of a ploughed field. The sieving unit was moved close to the dig - wet-sieving is now faster.
• 26/VII. Saturday was our day off and we visited Kůlna Cave, Mladeč Caves and Předmostí. We spend the evening at a local watering hole Mamut (Mammoth), our bill (table 20) was impressive.
• 25/VII. We continued with digging and sieving. The combine harvesters finally arrive ...
• 24/VII. At last our wet-sieving unit becomes operational. We uncover interesting geological features, most probably ice wedges.
• 23/VII. The rain does not help, but we press on. We have an interesting find frost fractured core.
• 22/VII. Typical day - no major discoveries. We expect more such days.
• 21/VII. Our excavation continues at full pace. We find a nice retouched Levallois point. We are still surrounded by barley and we anxiously await the harvest, so the wet-sieving can begin at full speed.
• 19/VII. Saturday's partying was a success.
• 17/VII. Although the weather is not favorable, we begin the excavation.
• 16/VII. So far our excavation is surrounded by a sea of barley. David builds a field toilet.
• 13/VII 2008. We find our first artifact during topsoil removal - a Levallois point
