The site of Mohelno-Plevovce is currently located within the range of fluctuating water levels at Mohelno water reservoir (part of a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station). The site has been repeatedly surveyed in recent years resulting in a significant collection of Paleolithic artifacts. In addition, at the spot where the artifacts were discovered within intact sediments, a small-scale excavation was realized (Test pit 1). The survey and excavation were possible only at low water levels while the bank was exposed. The results of surveys and excavation were recently published in AMM, Sci soc. (Škrdla et al. 2012). However, two additional find spots with artifacts in intact sediments (Test pit 2 & Test pit 3) were discovered during fall and winter of 2012. The flat stone structures supplemented by heavy-duty (quartz) industry and knapped artifacts (including rock crystal artifacts) were documented in Test pit 3. The cultural classification is uncertain. Based on similar finds from Brno-Štýřice we currently classify the site as Epigravettian. A salvage excavation was carried out during September 2013.
