This EUP site has been excavated between 1982-1987 by Jiri Svoboda. Excavations yielded several collections of Bohunician and Aurignacian stone artifacts made of local cherts.
Between 1997-1999, a collaborative project between Jirí Svoboda (Institute of Archaeology), and Ofer Bar-Yosef (Harvard University) has explored Stránská skála to obtain more information:
1.  to control archeological and geological stratigraphy
2.  to obtain more 14C dates
3.  to obtain a better understanding of the spatial distribution of the Bohunician on the Stránská skála hillside
4.  to augment the sample of artifacts for technological and typological studies.

The final publication: DVS10. Stránská skála. Origins of the Upper Paleolithic in the Brno Basin, Moravia, Czech Republic.
